All of athletes irrespective of achievement, deserve respect, for putting themselves through the gruelling process of trying to become the best. However that instantly came to my mind was Cathy Freeman, for the backstory, a symbol for determination and resilience, a symbol of national reconciliation between indigenous and non-indigenous Australians.
